Restaurant Details:
Upon entering Cienfuegos, one can’t help but feel like Old Havana and Calle Ocho have miraculously joined forces and landed in Alphabet City. A golden statue of Cuba’s patron saint La Caridad del Cobre reminds visitors that patience is rewarded in this popular rum bar. Once you get through the crowd, start off the evening by listening to Compay Segundo’s famous “Chan Chan” while sipping an Ernesto, a generous amount of El Dorado 3-year rum mixed with lime, grapefruit, and a float of malbec. If you’re a real rum connoisseur try the Autumn Shake, a potent twist on a mojito mixed with El Dorado 15-year rum. Start off your meal with petite corn tamales stuffed with savory braised pork. If you love Cuban classics try the Pollo a el Mojito, tender marinated chicken with yucca friends and sautéed kale. Sin embargo, the real stars here are the drinks.
